Your Specialist in TMS treatment, Medication management and Psychotherapy

Shalini Katyal, MD

Dr. Shalini Katyal is a board-certified psychiatrist who received her TMS training from Harvard Medical school and is the founder of Doctor’s Best TMS & Psychiatry. She specializes in the treatment of resistant depression using Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), a safe, non-invasive therapy. Dr. Katyal integrated TMS into her practice after observing the limitations of traditional medication and counseling for many of her patients. Her search for advanced treatments led her to TMS, which has shown significant relief for those with resistant depression.

Since 2019, Dr. Katyal has personally administered TMS to hundreds of patients, achieving outstanding results. Her wide experience across various TMS machines in both research and clinical settings led her to adopt the advanced MagVenture TMS system, enhanced with MRI-assisted Neuronavigation system for precise, individualized coil positioning. This precision enables her to deliver superior outcomes for her patients. With over 20 years of experience as a psychiatrist and psychotherapist, she has worked with a diverse range of patients, from those in institutionalized settings such as the State hospital with severe psychopathology to individuals navigating their first psychiatric episode in an outpatient environment. Her practice has a particular focus on women’s mental health, and she is highly skilled in addressing complex symptom patterns associated with grief, trauma, anxiety, and depression as well. In addition to TMS, she also specializes in integrating medication and psychotherapy to not only alleviate distressing symptoms but also promote lasting recovery and overall wellness for her patients. Her goal is to provide comprehensive care that addresses both the biological and emotional aspects of mental health. Her publications include studies on child and adolescent psychiatry training and the coadministration of TMS with nasal ketamine for patients with Major Depressive Disorder.
